From Taylor Marsh:
[David] Brody of CBN fed Obama a question meant to divide and hit Clinton. Obama obliged. Playing ball with the media in order to hit a fellow Democrat and send a message that Clinton is unelectable, especially with independents.
Another clip on "Countdown" showed Clinton simply saying, "As soon as we have a nominee, we will be strongly united because the most important thing is to put a Democrat in the white house starting in January 2009."
John Edwards, in an interview on "Countdown," said he intended to be the nominee, but that he absolutely believed everyone should rally around the nominee.

When I saw Obama say that I was so pissed...yet,not surprised. This is a guy who will put his name on any bill that a Republican will ask of him, yet, he won't co-sponsor the bill that Hillary asked of him to stop Bush from making a treaty with the Iraqi's to keep troops and bases in Iraq even if we have a new President...without the consent of Congress. He'll do more for a Republican than he will for his own party.
I'm tellin' ya, this guy is as right wing as Lieberman.
Oh...and you know how everyone is saying that Bill Clinton was wrong to say that Obama is putting a "hit job" on him? I just saw a video where Michele Obama made a comment to her audience that Hillary couldn't lead in the White House because she can't even take care of her own house...implying it was her fault that Bill cheated on her. This is the kind of personal attacks they lob at Hillary, but then when Obama is questioned on his policies, he cries racism and dirty tricks.
Mark my words, if Hillary wins, Obama will go out and speak against her or support an Independent candidate.
Yeah, that was really poorly phrased and shouldn't have been said. I don't think he was saying though that we shouldn't support the nominee. I can find you plenty of quotes of him saying we should rally around the nominee.
Unfortunately, I fear that the way the campaign has turned, on all sides (except Edwards, who has finally started comporting himself with decorum), the candidates are going to burn bridges with supporters that they need come November.
This is why I have been calling for us to stop the pointless mud-slinging, lies, and general negative campaigning from the beginning.
And Mary Ellen, regarding the comment from Michelle Obama never talked about Hillary directly like that. She was talking about being able to take care of her family during the campaign. She did say "If you can't take care of your own house you can't take care of the White House" but that was in reference to herself. She also, after that quote was misrepresented, apologized for the misunderstanding and stopped saying it.
I don't know where you get the idea that Obama is a right wing nut-job like Lieberman, but I would recommend you check facts, not propaganda. http://thomas.loc.gov/ - search for bills sponsored by candidate (I can't get a direct link unfortunately).
john j--you might also want to check the quotes from Obama when he said that he admired and supported Lieberman in his 2006 race in Conn. He called Lieberman his "mentor". I would say that if he felt that way toward Lieberman, the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.
I do know quite a bit about Obama and his career, I live in Chicago so I get a lot of news that isn't seen in the national news. The Trib is usually pretty easy on him, but the Sun Times does a lot of in-depth stuff on him.
I looked at his "check facts" site. He left out a whole lot of stuff regarding his dealings with Rezko. Check my blog, I did a whole post on it. It's easy for Obama to make himself look good when he leaves out facts...to me, that's the same as lying.
He supported Lieberman before Lamont won the primary. Afterwards, he campaigned for Lamont. This leads me to believe that he was being asked by the Democratic leadership to make these speeches of support. You can say what you want about that, but I would ask that if you do disagree with that, to hold the same standards for all candidates.
As for the Sun Times and Tribune, they seem to have it out for Obama, but don't often seem to give very accurate information. The articles I have been shown either are complete bs, or at the very least are misleading. If leaving out the facts is the same as lying to you, these papers definitely get that label as well.
