A reason to applaud

In 2000 John McCain received 237,888 votes in South Carolina and lost. Tonight, with 90% of the vote counted, he has just over half that number of votes with 139,306, and he won.

In Nevada, 114,000 Democrats came out to caucus. In 2004 the number was 9,000. It replicates a trend we are seeing in the previous contests. These vote counts should be very encouraging for Democrats.

This is very encouraging. I can't remember who said it, but some guy on Chris Matthews show last night said that the Democrats are going to destroy themselves because of the race issue. I'm sure that's what he's hoping for...but I see nothing but good coming from the numbers of Democrats voting. I'm also very encouraged by the number of young people voting.

It escapes me why this isn't THE story of the primaries.

Okay, no it doesn't I know exactly why it's not the story. But it damned well should be.

The numbers are astounding and as Jess said- should be the real story.

The real story? In the MSM? Who am I kidding?
