Barack Obama’s six-day bus tour has been chock-full of local stops through out the state, where he has had personal interactions with voters. However, during a stop at the Italian Market in Philadelphia, Obama had several testy run-ins with a man who wanted to take a picture with the senator.While that might certainly be annoying, it's not a crime. Just take the photo already.

"It was apparent that these guys were seeking autographs on books and magazines to sell on ebay," said Jen Psaki, a campaign spokeswoman. "They wanted a picture to authenticate the signatures. ..."

That "You are wearing me out, brother" qualifies as a "testy exchange" is a perfect example of the bar being set so low, he's got no choice but to trip over it.
Meanwhile, if it were Hillary who was slightly less than totally gracious to someone repeatedly hounding her for a photo, before relenting in the end anyway, the headline would be "Clinton Tries to Murder Photo-Seeker in Philadelphia." And if it were McCain, the headline would be "McCain: Jesus?"

So what would you qualify saying "You're wearing me out" to someone who has harassed him all day? Personally, I would have had the secret service remove them immediately and not said anything.
(oh, and since McCain already has a famous temper, it would be "McCain loses his temper again" - on page 6).

BAC: For two seconds there I thought I saw what everyone else did in Obama. (1) I thought Obama's race speech was a masterpiece, actually. But you can read my blog to get my full analysis of it (2) I like Taylor Marsh an awful lot but I have to admit feeling alienated by her sometimes when she gets into this patriotic rant. I know that by virtue of being from an immigrant family and by now having emigrated myself, I am not really part of her conversation, but rather part of some mysterious "other" who maybe AGREED with a lot of Reverend Wright's views on American society because of having seen the same stuff as a kid just wearing white skin (my skin is about the same color as Wright's is for the record, although I'm Ashkenaz not African).
And then I see this and am reminded why Obama has hit me the wrong way since I first saw him on TV. He's a fucking asshole. He's a brat and he has a TERRIBLE personality in an situation that involves person to person discussion.
I agree that Clinton would take a week's worth a bad press for a far more gentle rebuff of a fan.
Still, I'm starting to think that we've had enough nice guys running. Originally, I assumed that Clinton would be tougher on McCain because she's a partisan Democrat and that Obama would just be a centrist ass-licker.
I'm not so sure now. I think Obama's prickly personality might be what the Democrats need against McCain.
I still prefer Clinton. I am still without franchise as a foreign resident alien.
John J: Given how poorly Obama has connected with White "neighborhood guys" throughout this campaign and being that OH and PA are battleground states, if I were Obama, I couldn't take a nice picture with that guy fast enough! Who cares if he was an e-bay trader? I'd have make some light-hearted joke like "I hope this gets you at least a couple of hundred on e-bay, pal!" patted him on the back and been done with it.
But, oh no, not our Golden Child. He rolls a shitty game in the bowling capital of America and pitches a hissy fit about it. And then he responds like he did in the video to the guy? And he presumes he's going to be nominated without at least one ballot taken in Denver? I know Obama's not stupid. In fact, I think Clinton and Obama are quite possibly the two most intelligent Democrats in the senate caucus. So, what's up with him?
His elitism and arrogance are getting in the way of his realpolitik. He's got to know that Clinton's got a pretty hard ceiling as to male support and yet he goes and acts like a clown in Pennsylvania! Jeez, like a spoiled child trying to prove something to mommy and daddy.
He proved something alright. He proved to White ethnic men that giving Clinton a good second look is a good idea.
