When a loser is the winner

How ironic that as the news outlets were calling South Dakota for Sen. Hillary Clinton, they were simultaneously calling Sen. Barack Obama the presumptive Democratic nominee. Democrats have managed to select the candidate who is currently in third place in the electoral college vote.

As Sen. Clinton addresses her supporters tonight, it is abundantly clear to me that she is without question the strongest of the three remaining candidates. It never ceases to amaze me how Democrats can get right up to the line, and then blow their best chance at victory.

Earlier tonight, Sen. McCain taunted the record of Sen. Obama, saying "is this change we can believe in?" In less than ten minutes, he managed to frame Sen. Obama as the Washington status quo candidate.

It's going to be a long time from now until November.

When Senator Obama wins this election I'm not going to remind you that you wrote posts like this. When Sen. Obama nominates two Supreme Court justices who will uphold a woman's right to choose and who will not vote with Alito, Roberts, and Scalia in decisions that are injurious to working women, I won't remind you that you hated him being the nominee.

Hummm ... Are threats the new "unity" campaign we can expect?

How ironic that I was posting something for you just as you were posting this!

Please see "respect."

Dr. Monkey, I wish I had your faith in Obama. Because I still think as president Clinton would have done all you mention above -- and so much more.

Monkey's comment encapsulates the problem in a nutshell. Scolding, reprimand, condescension -- it's the only language most Obama supporters (not all, but most) seem to know how to use when talking to Clinton's people.

They are making Obama's job a lot harder and McCain's a lot easier.
