Republican Heath Care Plan: "Don't Get Sick"

I think Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) may be on to something here. He has certainly pegged Republicans for what they are -- greedy, heartless bastards.

Bull's-eye.

Call me a crazed fanboy, but Grayson's presentation reminded me of a scene in Independence Day. As you recall, the earth is being attacked by invaders from outer space. When an alien is taken prisoner, the President of the United States asks it, "What do you want?"

"We want you to DIE!!!" the alien screams.

Maybe the Republicans don't have death rays, but their intentions are the same. I'm glad Grayson reminded us.

Now, if Grayson would only say the same thing about Democrats, he'd peg them for what they are as well -- gready, heartless bastards.

The reality is that both Republicans and Democrats are greedy, power-hungry, heartless bastards who want to put heartless, power-hungry bastards in charge of our health care!

If we want to fix health care, we need to demand that we be allowed to choose what kind of insurance we want, and shop around for the best prices; and we need to be more willing to pay out-of-pocket for more medical services (and find the best prices for the best care we could afford, too).

Instead, we allow our employers, our state legislatures, our federal government, and even insurance companies to make these choices for us.

Is it any wonder that we're in the mess we're in?

I would add: If you need the government to make your health care decisions, then you're too stupid to vote! Because if you can't make your health care decisions, then what makes you think you'd be smart enough to choose the people to make those decisions for you?

I, for one, am confident in every adult who is able to vote to be able to make good decisions with regards to health care: we just need to give them the opportunity to do so.
