Obama Not Ready for Prime Time

Once again Sen. Obama has demonstrated why he is clearly not ready for prime time, and why he would be such an easy target for Republicans should he become the Dem nominee.

Take a look at this video from the Democratic Party on YouTube. It clearly presents a strategy all Dems should embrace -- that John McCain would be Bush 3.

Democrats would be crazy NOT to tie McCain to Bush, since George W. Bush has been such a disaster. But look what Taylor Marsh has up this morning:

Last week was miserable for Barack Obama. But now he's making matters worse for us all by scuttling Democratic efforts to equate a McCain presidency with a third term for George W. Bush. Just take a look at the above video, which is an official video from the Democratic Party on YouTube. Oh, and it's by no means the only video like this from the DNC. We need this like a whole in the head.

"You have a real choice in this election. Either Democrat would be better than John McCain," Obama said to cheers from a rowdy crowd in central Pennsylvania. Then he said: "And all three of us would be better than George Bush."
Obama says McCain would be better than Bush
Hillary Clinton has also compared McCain's "lifetime of experience," and come up with some parallels that don't include Obama, which is illustrated in this video. But her arguments make the case why McCain is a formidable opponent in the general election, not why McCain would be a better president than Bush. It's a huge difference. (more)
Obama is clearly not ready for prime time. Let's hope voters realize this, before it's too late.

You know what? It's true. Bush is the worst president in HISTORY. I don't think a worm could be a worse president.

It doesn't weaken the argument that McCain would be a continuation of the same bad policies.

You might want to compare this to a few things Clinton has said such as McCain is more qualified than Obama to be president. Does this mean you think Obama would be worse than Bush and McCain?

Why would Obama want to suggest that McCain is NOT in the same league as George W. Bush? Why is he making comments that are counter to what the Democratic party is putting forward? Should Obama get the nod, is he TRYING to give Republicans talking points for the fall?

This is yet another example of why Obama is simply not ready for prime time.

If Obama IS going to be the Dem nominee he better bone up on the soft questions because that's the nut job coming at him by Republicans. George S and Charlie Gibson proved that in the last debate. Personally, I think Hillary stands a better chance going against McCain. But would love a draft Gore movement at the convention.

BAC, Obama isn't campaigning on this. He was asked a question by a reporter (or at least was forced to "conceed that all three leading presidential candidates are better than President Bush"). If he were campaigning on this, it would be one thing. Answering a question honestly, in a way that no one can honestly argue against, is completely different.

John -- you simply don't get it. The news article I read didn't indicate he was answering a reporters question, but even if that WAS the case, he gave the WRONG ANSWER. He should have NEVER said that McCain would be better than Bush -- particularly when the Democratic party is spending resources painting McCain as the same as Bush.

And everything he says between now and the Democratic convention is "campaigning." Obama doesn't seem to get that, and clearly neither do you!

And how do you KNOW John McCain wouldn't be as bad, or worse, than Bush??? George W. Bush has clearly set a new "low" -- but how can you know it's the bottom? Hell, I never thought anyone could be worse than Ronald Reagan, but GWB has proven me wrong.

Please take off your Obama apologist glasses and see that this man is simply NOT ready for prime time.

So you like politicians that lie, willfully, over one that answers a question honestly? I could throw a rock and hit someone that would be a better president than Chimpy. It is not earth shattering news.

No, I like politicians with the political savy to be able to WIN. John McCain wants to keep us in Iraq for 100 years, he wants to continue Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy, he thinks our healthcare system is just fine. How is this any different from GWB???

What I want to say is: "Just how stupid are you, John????" But I will do my best to refrain from being so harsh. Instead I will say again, please take off your rose colored glasses and see that your guy is simply not ready for prime time. The Republicans will make mince meat out of him in about 30 seconds -- and when they do WE ALL LOSE!!!

At this point, there is every reason to think the Democratic ticket will include Obama and Hillary. Putting the two of them together is the only strategy that ensures both of their constituencies will vote for the Democratic team.

Either one alone will lose too many votes to Ralph Nader, other vote-siphoning non-candidates or John McCain, and then lose the election.
