Seeds of a new progressive blogosphere

Feminist bloggers, tired of the sexism and misogyny on the so-called 'progressive' blogosphere, are speaking out. It's the 2008 version of "Network" -- we're mad as hell, and we're not going to take it any longer.

A list is taking shape of those political bloggers who are either pro-Hillary or at least fair in their coverage of the candidates — in other words, bloggers who aren’t raving Clinton-hating Obamabots.

I'll use myself as an example. I don't "hate" Obama, I simply don't think he is ready for prime time! I have seen very few people opposed to Obama use racist language when talking about him. The people who oppose Clinton often use sexist language. I think there is a difference.

Excellent!

This is one of the things I was hoping might come out of this awful show of sexism and abandonment of real progressive values we've seen this primary season.

And I have to second BAC. I don't hate Obama. I suspect that years of witnessing the press functioning as Bush's fluffer - has distorted some people's view of what disagreeing with a political figure is.

Just because I choose to support someone different from you and I disagree with your candidate, does not mean I hate them or you.

Not all disagreement is hate. I would hope that the "new way" so talked about by Obama and some of his supporters is not mindlessly following his POV and the squashing of dissent as hate.

Instead, I would like to assume that it is meant to be an opening for discussion from multiple points of views of actual issues and policies.

Sadly, I see too little of that coming from that area.
